Born and raised in Guelph, June lives in Ward 3 with her husband Peter. Both June and Peter have a love for travel and recently did a wonderful bike trip throughout Holland.

When not serving on Council, June enjoys the outdoors, loves to garden, cycle, canoe, and go on camping trips. Walking is a favourite pastime as is reading a good mystery novel.

June spent most of her professional career in the financial industry. She has the proven skills to analyze the numbers and an in-depth understanding of the city finances. She built and managed a thriving Wellness Clinic in downtown Guelph for over a decade. Having owned a small business for 12 years, she understands the challenges of start-up and managing a small business. Peter and June currently operate a local renovation company, 'Hofland Homes and Remodeling'.

Throughout her 12 years as a city councillor, June has worked extensively with her constituents, community groups, and business leaders. Her mandate is to encourage economic and cultural diversity, develop strong, vibrant neighbourhoods, while moving our city towards a clean energy economy.

June is driven in all that she does by a deep commitment to serve. She has worked with parent teacher associations on a wide variety of fundraising projects and has been a contributing board member for a number of non-profit organizations.

She is a well-known advocate for people living in poverty and is passionate about creating a city where everyone enjoys social and economic opportunity and equanimity.

She is dedicated to helping women pursue their political and professional career aspirations. In the winter of 2017, June helped organize the first Guelph-Wellington Women's Campaign School, attended by more than 50 aspiring candidates.

Two of her key priorities is public transit and active transportation services. June has worked hard to improve our bus system, helping to implement the affordable bus pass. She believes Guelph is uniquely positioned to create a well-connected transportation system that includes biking and walking trails, with future consideration given to an electric vehicle recharging infrastructure.

June is an experienced leader who understands that to be successful, you need to have a willingness to learn, work together, and be prepared to have your world view challenged frequently.
